This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our messaging and calling services — and the ethical standards we uphold in handling your data.

A. Account Information

When you create or use your TalkMax account, we may collect:

  • Mobile number
  • Country code
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Email address (optional, for verification or recovery)
  • Contacts from your device (optional, used only to display other TalkMax users)
  • B. Device and Technical Data

    We may collect certain information automatically, including:

  • Device model, OS version, and app version
  • IP address and region
  • Diagnostic and crash data
  • Connection type (Wi-Fi, mobile network)
  • C. Messages and Media

    Your personal messages, calls, and shared media are end-to-end encrypted, even TalkMax cannot read or listen to them.

  • If a message cannot be delivered immediately, it is stored in encrypted form for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
  • D. Cookies and Analytics

    We may use cookies or local storage to maintain preferences and improve app performance.

    These do not track personal conversations or contacts.

    How We Use Information

    We use your data solely to:

  • Operate and improve TalkMax features
  • Authenticate and secure your account
  • Enable chat, voice, and video calls
  • Identify which of your contacts are using TalkMax
  • Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and detect technical issues
  • Communicate important updates or security alerts
  • We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising or profiling.

    Information Sharing

    We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

    We may share data only when necessary:

  • With trusted service providers (e.g., OTP delivery partners) bound by strict confidentiality agreements
  • With law enforcement or regulators when legally required
  • During legitimate business transitions (e.g., merger, acquisition) under continued privacy protection
  • Your Choices and Controls

    You can:

  • View, edit, or delete your personal data in the app
  • Manage permissions (contacts, camera, microphone, etc.)
  • Delete your account anytime — your data is erased from active servers, and residual data (in backups) is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Contact us at privacy@talkmax.in for data access or deletion requests
  • Data Retention

    We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our Services or comply with law.

    After deletion, backups are automatically purged to ensure permanent removal.

    Data Security

    We employ strong encryption, secure servers, and access control systems to safeguard your data.

    While no system is fully immune, TalkMax continuously monitors and updates its infrastructure to protect against unauthorized access, misuse, or data leaks.

    Account Deletion

    You can delete your Talkmax account at any time.

    How to delete your account:

  • Open the Talkmax app.
  • Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • Confirm deletion to permanently remove your profile and all associated data.
  • Children’s Privacy

    TalkMax is not designed for users under 13 (or the minimum legal age in your country).

    If we become aware of child data collected without consent, we delete it immediately.

    Ethical Considerations

    TalkMax is built on ethical principles that guide how we design, develop, and manage our technology.

    We believe privacy is a human right, not a feature.

    A. Transparency and Honesty

    We clearly communicate what data is collected and why, no hidden tracking, no shadow analytics, and no silent sharing with third parties.

    B. User Autonomy

    You always control your data.

    We avoid dark patterns, manipulative prompts, or consent-by-default settings.

    Critical features (like chat backup or contact sync) require explicit opt-in.

    C. Minimal Data Philosophy

    We collect only what’s necessary to provide core communication features, nothing more.

    We don’t store conversation content, location data, or behavioral analytics.

    D. Security by Design

    Our encryption and architecture prioritize privacy from day one, not as an afterthought.

    We integrate privacy reviews in every feature update and ensure ethical AI and analytics practices.

    E. Human Oversight

    No automated system can override ethical boundaries.
